Where the modern day actually hurts
Ask anyone who spends their working hours at a screen where the strain lives, and they will point to the same places: behind the eyes, across the temples, at the base of the skull, along the tops of the shoulders. A good head massage goes straight to those places and stays there — no detours, no filler.
Ours draws on the Indian champi tradition, the head massage that generations across this country grew up with at home. At Nola Wellness Spa in Kakkanad, that familiar ritual is refined into a focused spa session: warmed oil (or a dry option, if you prefer), practised fingertips working the scalp in slow circles, and steady attention to the temples, neck and shoulders where tension gathers.

What happens in a session
You remain in your regular clothing, seated or reclining in a private room. Your therapist begins at the shoulders, loosening the muscles that feed tension upward into the head, then moves through the neck and up to the scalp itself — kneading, circling and gently lifting through the hair. The temples and forehead are worked last, slowly, which is usually the point at which guests stop noticing time.
Thirty minutes covers the classic champi — scalp, temples, neck and shoulders, eased without hurry. If your tiredness runs the length of the body rather than sitting at the top of it, a full-body session such as a Swedish massage may serve you better — or combine the two.
Benefits of head massage
- Relief from tension headaches — easing the scalp, neck and shoulder muscles addresses the most common source of everyday headaches.
- Less eye strain and screen fatigue — slow work around the temples and brow releases the tightness that hours of focus leave behind.
- Healthier scalp and hair — massage stimulates circulation to the scalp, and the traditional oil option conditions the hair as it works.
- Better sleep — many guests book an evening slot precisely because the session settles a busy mind before bed.
- Quick, clothed and convenient — meaningful relief in half an hour, with no undressing and no oil if you need to head straight back out.
Who is it for?
Anyone whose day is spent looking at a screen — which, around Infopark and SmartCity, is most people. It suits guests short on time, those prone to tension headaches, students in exam season, and anyone who finds their mind harder to switch off than their body. Guests on their feet all day often pair it with a foot reflexology session for a top-and-bottom reset. The full menu is on our therapies page.
Why guests choose Nola for head massage in Kakkanad
Because a head massage is only as good as the hands giving it. Our therapists are trained in the champi technique rather than improvising around it, every session takes place in a 100% private room, and the spa is unisex and open daily from 11 am to 9:30 pm — minutes from Infopark, SmartCity, Edapally and Vytilla, so a lunch-hour or after-work visit is genuinely easy.
"I came in with a headache I'd carried since morning and left without it. Thirty minutes." — Divya, head massage guest
